By registering your Nunavut business with the NNI Secretariat, you stand to benefit from the Government of Nunavut's procurement activity.
- As a Registered Nunavut Business, you get an incentive (currently 7%) as a bid adjustment on Government of Nunavut procurement for communities in Nunavut.
- As a Nunavut Registered Business, you get a second bid adjustment (currently also 7%) if the contract or FOB point of purchase is local to where your business is located.
- If your business is a Registered Inuit Firm, it would get an additional bid adjustment (currently also 7%). If your business is an Inuit business but it is not registered with Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI), you should contact them at http://www.tunngavik.com/ so you can get your business registered with them and qualify for this bid adjustment. If you are not sure if your Inuit business is registered with NTI, you can check their registry here: http://www.inuitfirm.com/public/index.html
By registering your business with both the NNI Secretariat and NTI, you could gain a total bid adjustment of up to 21% on Government of Nunavut contracts. When you register your business with the NNI Secretariat, be sure to specify what Goods and Services you offer, because you will only qualify for the Goods incentive for the Goods you have registered to supply.
By registering your business with both the NNI Secretariat and NTI, your business will be listed on their respective websites. These listings are relied upon by the Government of Nunavut's Contracting Authorities to confirm your eligibility for those bid adjustments.
Contractors who bid on Government of Nunavut Tenders and RFPs often need sub-contractors. These contractors have to meet targets for using Nunavut, Inuit and Local suppliers. By registering your Nunavut Business with the NNI Secretariat, you also make your business and it's capabilities known to these contractors.
Note: To qualify for the Nunavut Business bid adjustment, the business must have received designation as a Nunavut Business at least two weeks prior to the Tender or RFP closing.
